I sometimes get asked by developers how to test a mobile web site with a screen reader. Both iOS and Android have screen readers built in.

Here is a very basic guide how to get started with VoiceOver on iOS in order to carry out some basic screen reader testing.

"Timing adjustable" - accessibility issues with session time out

This is just a brief blog post explaining WCAG checkpoint 2.2.1 "timing adjustable", and what it means in practice.
This checkpoint applies whenever there is limited time for any action. How long the time limit is does not matter for this. The typical situation for this is when the user has to log into a web site, e.g. if they log into their account.

This article is the first one in a series of accessibility posts from the AbilityNet Webteam. We are planning to explain common accessibility problems, give you some simple tips&tricks how to improve your web site and discuss some other accessibility related issues. 

This first article looks into issues with the alt text of images. This is one of the most common problems found in our web audits. It is mainly aimed at content editors but may also be useful for others.
